Description:

As we travel, we seek out Elks Lodges because they seem to have some of the friendliest people and are usually less expensive to have a meal or cocktails.  This lodge was no exception to that.  As we drove up to the lodge we noticed about 4 RV's were set up out by Hwy 98. It appeared they had power and water.  I'm not sure about sewer.

The parking lot is very large and sitting at the back of the lot to the north is an older well maintained pretty large building that was the lodge itself.  We stopped by around 1:00 on a Friday and as we ventured toward the lodge there were about 6 cars in the parking lot.  As we walked in we were impressed with the size of the lodge and again it was well maintained.  There was the usual tribute to our military as we walked in.  As with all lodges, we had to sign in as a guest and ring a buzzer for access.   (Most Elks lodges are open to the public as long as they are not having a membership meeting or special event.)

We grabbed 2 seats at the bar and ordered our usual Bacardi and Water.  I quickly noticed that they had a lunch special that day of Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes for $9.95.  We ordered 1 plate to share.   The food came quickly delivered by a volunteer member.  It was cooked perfectly with great flavor.  The mashed potatoes were instant which, believe it or not, I prefer over lumpy handmade ones.  Everything was very good.

The lodge looks out onto the intercostal waterway with a lot of boat traffic to watch.  Outside, they are set up for large outdoor events with an outside bar, bandstand, covered and uncovered seating.  They even have their own beach and pier.

Inside they have a very large bar area, dining area, pool tables and multiple steel tip dart boards.  These guys are set up for fun.

Bottom Line:

Even if you are not an Elks member, you should stop by this lodge.  The people are very friendly and chatty.  IF they have food that day, it seems to be good.  The views are great.  Who knows you may want to join!
