Description: A very small restaurant and bar. The name and curb appeal of the building drew us in. Situated on Highway 90 in Waveland the brightly painted building with a name like that who wouldn't stop. Especially if Wolfie is in the car with you. So we decided to stop in for 1 (Juan) Tequila on our way back to the RV. Rather than jumping straight to the Mexican cure all, we opted for a House Margarita. The Margarita was very good and not too sour mix tasting like most house ones are.
They had Tamales on the menu as one of their house specialties and I can never resist trying Tamales. I consider myself as a Tamale expert. We only ordered one because we had already had dinner. The tamale was fairly small, but absolutely delicious. It had a thin wall of masa. Just enough to give you plenty of flavor. The pork was cooked perfectly and with just the right seasoning. Not spicey but not mild.
I knew better than giving Wolfie the Juan Tequila shot before we were ready to go, so I ordered 2 shots of Jose 1800 Silver. (I know there are better ones out there, but we like this one). I paid my tab holding the Wolfie back from the shot until it was all done. We then ended this adventure with the shots and I quickly put her in the car before anything would take effect. Thus the adventure ends.
Bottom Line: This place is very busy and for a good reason. Service was good, Tamales were great and what a name!
