Description: The campground is nestled in the heart of the Great Outdoors along the Suwannee River, offering over 600 improved campsites and 800 acres of primitive camping. They provide a multitude of amenities, including a Restaurant (during events), Country Store, horse stables, canoeing, private river beach access, disc golf, in-ground pool access, game room, and a laundry facility. The roads are mostly paved and offer a pleasant drive through experience. Whether you're a music enthusiast, nature lover, or simply seeking relaxation, this park has something for everyone.
For the 2024 Suwanee Spring Reunion Music Festival at the park, we arrived two days early to explore the surrounding area since we had never been to the area. As we entered the park, we were very disappointed at the help we had getting to our site. This is a VERY large park and I asked multiple staff where my campsite was and no one seemed to be able to help. Even the map they had of sites was minimally helpful as my camping area was not listed. I believe the lack of park knowledge by the staff was because they bring in a lot of temporary help to work the music festivals. Eventually I found someone that knew the park and instructed me how to get to my site.
Our location was in "Special Persons" Site 23. I believe they only use this are for large special events which explains why it was not on their map. The spaces for RVs to park are basically in a field with your hookups at the back of your site. There are no markings showing of what is your site space is supposed to be so people were cheating a bit with their RV placement. We had full hookups, but be aware that they are for 2 sites and side by side so you may have to go under your RV to attach. I strongly recommend you have plenty of sewer, water and electric lines or you may not be able to hook up. They full hookup connections are a bit dated, but all functioned with no issues. The sites in this area are soft grass and sloped/unlevel so make sure you have pads to put under your levelers or you will sink in the ground.
On our 3rd day a huge 5th wheel pulled alongside us and blocked what view we had, but that was expected as the sites are not very wide. He also went to the extreme edge of his site, with a slide out overhanging where our firepit was. Obviously we had to move it.
As the RV Park Gods would have it, since we were in a field, it had to rain all day one day so for the remainder of our stay we had some mud to deal with. It was not really bad, but still a little bit of a challenge. Having an outside rug really helped a lot.
The park does have numerous RV sites that are located on hard level earth and pads, so outside of a big festival you should be able to book a better site.
Bottom Line:
The Spring Reunion Music Festival was fun and very entertaining with a lot of things to do and 5 stages of varying music. (Mostly country, Bluegrass and some Rock). I would do it again, but I recommend booking a camp site in one of the normal RV camping areas. Even if you have to stay in the "Special Persons" camping area, it is worth the adventure (We already booked our site for the 2025 Spring Reunion Festival)
