Description:
Sun Coast RV Resort is far from a resort. There are very few amenities that you would expect in a "resort". We were in site 56 which is a small (They call it medium) pull through site at the back of the park. There is no paved slab for your RV, but the ground is very hard so that is not a problem. The patio slab we had was very cracked and broken up. The only way we fit into the site was to hang far to left of it which put us against a palm tree with several palm fronds rubbing the roof and my Wineguard antennae.
We arrived on a Sunday and the park office is closed on Sunday and Monday, so I reported the palm frond issue and did receive an email back saying they would take care of it on Tuesday when they are back in the office. On Tuesday in the early afternoon, someone did come to our site and cut the fronds away from our RV.
The sites are shaded by tall pine trees as well as Palm Trees. The site that we had was mostly sand/dirt with sparse grass. I'm betting that most of the sites are monthly renters. They don't have a lot of stuff out like most monthly rentals do, so it is not a bad environment.
The park has a new clubhouse, laundry and office that is really nice. They are in the process of building some type of pavilion behind the "closed" pool area. (They did not notify me that the pool was closed, and there is currently no outdoor pavilion. That would have been important for most people to know.)
My interaction with the office staff was pleasant and helpful. We had a water outage when a demolition crew busted a water pipe, but the office texted me and let me know so I could shut off my hot water tank.
Bottom Line:
This is an old park but is in a good location if you want to do things around the New Port Richey area. Everything is convenient. They are working to improve the amenities, but really need to tell people at booking that some things are not available.
As I mentioned, the park sites are old. The full hookups were newer and in good shape, but the patios need a lot of work. This is a good place to stay if you want to be in this area. I do not recommend it as a destination RV Park but I would stay here again.
