Description: On the long road from Pensacola to Birmingham this is one of my favorite stops for lunch or dinner. They specialize in Southern Style Cornbread Dressing with Turkey Gravy and your choice of sides. I always get the Dressing, Gravy and Turkey with no sides only because the portions are large and there is no way I could eat all this and sides as well.
The dressing was moist, with extremely good flavor. You can lightly taste the seasoning, celery and it is cooked perfectly. The turkey was thin sliced with 2 slices. It was tasteful and moist as well. The gravy was hot, with a great flavor.
None of their dishes have the heavy sage flavoring that for some reasons many restaurants seem to add to this type of meal.
Bottom line: For a very inexpensive delicious thanksgiving meal any day of the week, I strongly recommend Bates House of Turkey in Greenville, AL
