Description:  Located on the corner of main street at The Wharf, it is pretty obvious that this is an Italian style restaurant.    There is a large outside bar that is great for people watching and when you step inside it is a very pleasant upscale, white table cloth environment with a full complement of all the right devices for dining.  The staff are all well dressed in fine dining restaurant attire and are very professional.  The outer wall has large full windows so you can still people watch as you dine.  I call a place like Villaggio where you DINE not eat.

We were there during a car show and The Wharf was packed.  Unfortunately they had a greatly reduced menu because of the all day volume of the show.  After glancing at the menu which was very basic pizza and dishes, I whined a bit to the bartender (yes, we were eating at the bar as usual) that the reason I came to Villaggio today was because I saw the Chicken Marsala on the menu.  Sheila loves Italian food, but for the most part, I don't with the exception of Chicken Marsala.  The bartender said since Chicken Marsala is a pretty basic dish, he would speak with the lead chef and see if they could do anything.  I was very surprised when he came back and said the Chef agreed to make it for me.  So, I of course had to push a little more and ask for baked bread and extra Marsala sauce.  Sheila ordered their Villaggio Pizza.

My Chicken Marsala came out perfect.  It had a tremendously tender piece of chicken breast with one of the better Marsala sauces I've had over delicate angel hair pasta.  The baked bread was piping hot with a soft interior and a crusty but not hard hull.

Sheila got a pizza.  (Sorry I just don't care for pizza)  Actually it was their signature Villaggio Pizza which has Pepperoni, Sausage, Bell Peppers, Mushrooms, Kalamata Olives, Marinara.  She loves it and like everything else, it was cooked masterly.  They are known for a good pizza tossed by hand and cooked in a brick over.

Bottom Line: Villaggio is a very nice restaurant.  I want to call it up scale but it is a mid-to-upper scale restaurant with a nice menu and very well trained staff.  It is definitely on our recommended list.
